PRINCE GEORGE'S SUMMER TEEN THEATRE
Rules of Conduct for Participation -
2008
Prince George's Summer Teen Theatre exists with
the support and cooperation of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning
Commission, and High Point High School, which make possible the use of public buildings for our
productions. In order to maintain a
good working relationship with our sponsors and in the effort to attain the
high level of artistic achievement for which we have come to be known, we
require a disciplined approach to our work.
We ask, therefore, that all company members’ sign below that they agree
to abide by these rules of conduct for participation.
REHEARSAL RULES
§
Any known conflicts with the rehearsal schedule must be
noted on the audition sheet or at the first rehearsal after casting. Any other conflicts that arise during the
rehearsal period must to be cleared by both
directors in writing. Even if
cleared with the directors these conflicts may be considered unexcused and will
be considered under our attendance policy.
Any additional rehearsal
conflicts may result in changes in casting or dismissal from the cast.

Attendance is required at all rehearsals and
company meetings unless excused in advance by the Director. Cast members will sign in upon arrival to
each rehearsal. Unexcused absence or
tardiness constitutes grounds for dismissal.
§
Shoes must be worn at all times. Flip
Flops, sandals & barefeet are not allowed at any time. Cast members will
wear the costume shoes assigned by the choreographer for all rehearsals.
§
Stage directions must be duly noted by
actors and followed at all rehearsals and performances.
§
Running, yelling and wandering around
the inside or outside of the school is not allowed.
§
Come prepared to rehearsal. Bring your script, pencils, erasers, and
some notepaper to all rehearsals.
§
Guests are not permitted. Family
members & friends are not allowed in the rehearsal hall during rehearsal.
§
No electronic gadgets may be used
during rehearsals, including cell phones, text messaging, MP3 players and video
games. Please turn them off and put them away prior to entering the building.
If items are put away properly, odds are it won’t be lost or stolen.
§
Eating is not permitted during
rehearsals
§
Bring bottled water only. Everyone should
bring at least 8 ounces of water to rehearsal. It will help with your singing
and keep you hydrated during dance routines.
§
All laws of the State of Maryland and
Prince George's County must be obeyed.
This includes the non-use of tobacco or alcohol on school property,
including outdoors, and possession or use of controlled substances or firearms
on school property.
§
School rules also require that company
members do not enter unauthorized space in the building. Members must remain in the auditorium or other
authorized rehearsal space until released from rehearsal by the Director.
§
Loitering in the school parking lot
during or after rehearsals will not be tolerated.
§ The rights and privacy of other cast members must be respected at all times. No inappropriate behavior of any kind will be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, invasion of dressing rooms by members of the opposite sex, inappropriate language, inappropriate attire such as failure to wear shoes and shirts, and any other activity forbidden by the Director, Producer, Parental Chaperone, or other staff/Board member.
§
While food may be eaten outside of the
auditorium during authorized rehearsal breaks, no empty food containers, wrappers, lunch bags, waste paper or garbage of
any kind may be left in hallways. The
use of proper waste disposal receptacles is required.
§
Any person we feel is a disruption to
the group as a whole will be asked to leave the cast..
Failure to abide by these rules constitutes
grounds for dismissal from the Prince George's Summer Teen Theatre. I understand the above rules and agree to
abide by them so that I may be in the summer production of PGSTT's Jesus Christ Superstar.
